"Women Who Refuse to be Invisible started out as a series of mixed media, nontraditional, portraits of women (60+ years-old) in which I’ve tried to capture the power and presence of women in response to society’s persistent gender roles and misogyny."

Another Exceptional Women’s Art Show: Expect the Unexpected

Hard-hitting unconventionality and vibrant imaginings are the point of this extraordinary show featuring seven local New Mexico women artists.

Creative friends working in various mediums, something electrifying emerges as each artist brings forth the unique and unusual from her repertoire.

A soul advising bird stands guard, looming glass-sharded landscapes extend an invitation, found object creations elicit questions and curiosity, all the while coyotes beckon.

Paintings and three-dimensional forms, recycled art pieces and more will be displayed in this unexpected show.

Artists in the show include Leslie Pino Durant, Rosario Glezmir, Amanda Lawson, Vivienne Riggio, Susan Roden, Yolanda Howren Jones, and Lori Colt.
