Before and after  the 2024 presidential election, Old Walls Gallery showed

R3SI$T!

an exhibition exploring and celebrating the possibilities for art within the political arena.

The exhibition included the work of over 40 artists and varies in media including drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, new media, video, performance, and song.

It was a beautiful show of resilience and creativity in the face of these catastrophic political times.

Works confronted rising fascism, combat corporate power, and even imagine a new world beyond these realities!

About the title: R3SI$T

The use of the number 3 and a dollar sign in the exhibition's title are intended to shake up the often co-opted "resistance" championed by the far right & corporate left.  We're looking for ALL protest art:  the new, ancient, erratic, (un)organized & beautiful.

OWG pokes fun at the fact that we could be approaching Bernie's 3RD term, soberly acknowledges that this is the 2ND time we've all had to resist overt fascism and white supremacy, & celebrates that there is no 1ST way to work toward humanity and justice, or to express that struggle.
